DNA (missed appointments) policy
A large number of appointments are lost each month due to ‘did not attends’ ie the patient does not turn up for the appointment and does not contact the surgery in advance to cancel/change the appointment.
The effects of this are:
- An increase in waiting time for appointments
- Frustration for both staff and patients
- A waste of resources
The practice therefore operates a strict DNA policy, a copy of which is on view in the reception areas.
